DUPOND EN AMÉRIQUE LATINE

Through this photography I am interested in making a point of how, from the popular culture, and in this specific case from a comic like The Adventures of Tintin, a vision of European colonialism has been created towards other cultures.

The element I use in the artwork, as an index of territory, is a brown skin, showing the body as a landscape loaded with political relations. Also, I introduce a plastic figure, which represents the "civilized" white man - and well dressed - on the brown skin, also representing this process of colonization that has been seen repeatedly in our popular culture as Latin Americans.
